Friday began at noon with free traditional free practice. Goal of the first thirty-minute was familiarization with the newly modified track which compared to the last year has undergone two changes and also testing of the new engine which was fitted to Ondra´s Aprilia. Time of 1:43,704 ranked him as 15th in the interim position. By afternoon qualification Ondra put a stable pace and rode times below 1:44. After seven finished laps he changed bike´s tyres for a new rear one and started to accelerate. The resulting time of 1:41,642 was more than two seconds better than in free practice. The most striking improvements have Ondra scored in the first sector in which he was faster by eight tenths of a second. After the first day of the Ondra was keeping 12th place.

Saturday's free practice for Ondra rode whole on the old tire from Friday's qualifications. Best time was 1:42,798, which meant the 15th position. Positive finding was a better performance of new fuel maps, long into the night before prepared by chief technician Karel Moravec. This increased the performance in high revolutions and even on the measured top speed was Ondra slightly better. In the final qualification, we were looking forward to improvements. Ondra surprised the whole team by arrival in the boxes and reported failure. To blame was malfunctioning electronics and the associated poor motor flaps activity. Despite the assistance of technicians from the Aprilia factory the team failed to remove the problem and so after three futile attempts Ondra had to prematurely leave the playing area and head to the boxes. The sum of both qualifications Ondra had counted the time from Friday, which was only enough for 15th place.

Sunday morning warm up was without problems. The problem with electronics was solved and Ondra´s 11th place returned optimism to the team.
In the race itself after Ondra got a good start through opening lap he went to 14th position. After the fall of duo La Marra-Bussolotti he together with the German Lammert fought for the 11th place. That fight graduated until the very end of the race, where it ended prematurely, due to badly calculated amount of fuel for the race. So Ondra just two laps to finish line had his motorcycle went out and the race for him unluckily finished without a point. In the overall classification is Ondra holding 14th position with profit of just nine points.

Ondra Jezek:
„In Assen, I was expecting a breakthrough, but unfortunately it did not. Over incremental performance improvements of my motorcycle I still was not able to match the top. In the race since the first lap I lost contact with the group fighting the 6th place. I had to concentrate on the fight for eleventh position. Lammert was slower in corners but on the straights he more than compensated this. Unfortunately, close before the finish I ran out of gas. It is a pity that we are constantly struggling with the bike´s performance. Chassis of the bike had perfect setting today. We take appropriate steps to
improve the engine performance and in Monza we will see.“
