Last weekend the fourth event of the WSBK was run in Italian Monza on the fastest track of the whole series. Ondra after a good start and excellent performance finished the race in the top ten. Unfortunately, post-race technical scrutineering figured a lower than permitted weight of the motorcycle and was followed by a disqualification. That was uncomfortable, especially when Ondra since that Saturday morning performed very well. In free practice he finished tenth and in the afternoon qualifying fifteenth. All went well and the team looked hopeful for the Sunday race. So a stupid mistake cancelled a significant shift in the overall standings of the series. Now the SMS Racing team with Ondrej Jezek will present home at the Masaryk Circuit where from 20th to 22nd of May take place the Czech Championship and Alpe Adria Championship.

Ondrej Jezek:
"The whole weekend ran perfectly. In the practice sessions at Monza, I occupied a much better positions than in previous events. Above all the 10th place in the second free practice was a big surprise. I started to the race from the fourth row. Start went well for me and to the end of the first round I passed through the 13th position. During the race I was moving in a large group fighting for the 8th place. It was really very difficult. Every round there were many position exchanges. In the last laps of the race I fought a fight for the 13th place with Harms and Giansanti and both of the rivals I managed to overtake. In the final Parabolica corner the Russian Ivanov made a mistake when he hit into Iannuzzo riding in front of him and through the fall they took also James Ellison. So the 10th place was mine along with the first position in the top ten. Unfortunately, our euphoria lasted only about 30 minutes. It's a shame to bring home zero points for such a trifle. However, I am satisfied with the performance that I made. In the next races I want to prove that this result was not accidental."
